U4GM Arc Raiders Frigate Guide on When to Retreat
Approaching the Frigate without a coordinated squad should begin with a limit, not a promise to finish. Whether you are researching ARC Raiders BluePrints or simply exploring, decide what this particular run can afford to lose. Treat observation, nearby resource collection, and the main objective as separate choices rather than steps you must complete.
Set Your Loss Limit Before Moving In
Ask whether replacing your equipment would feel routine or painful. If losing your weapon, supplies, and carried valuables would disrupt several future runs, choose a shorter visit. An expendable loadout should still support your intended task; cheap equipment is not a reason to accept every fight.
Reserve supplies for leaving instead of budgeting everything for the approach. Set a personal stopping point before entering: a minimum healing reserve, an ammunition threshold, or a remaining time limit. Once you reach it, turn back rather than renegotiating under pressure.
Choose Between Looking, Looting, and Committing
For scouting, give yourself one question to answer. Identify a possible approach, observe activity around an entrance, or inspect where you might retreat. Stop once you have useful information. You do not need to enter every unfamiliar space to make the visit worthwhile.
For nearby resources, keep your collection area small and connected to your exit. Committing to the main objective deserves a separate assessment of supplies, time, and cooperation. Do not turn a brief collection run into a deeper attempt merely because the next section looks accessible.
Give Solo and Duo Runs Different Rules
Alone, favor positions that let you withdraw without first winning a fight. Before crossing an exposed stretch, identify your next cover and the direction you would retreat. If you cannot explain how you would leave after taking damage, reconsider the crossing.
As a duo, agree on the purpose of the visit and a clear retreat call. Have one player observe while the other checks resources or the next position. Keep enough separation to watch different angles, but avoid moving so far apart that helping requires another risky crossing.
Leave Before the Situation Chooses for You
Use fresh footsteps behind you, incoming fire from another direction, dwindling supplies, or an obstructed return path as reasons to reassess immediately. If your exit becomes uncertain, stop advancing. Find a defensible pause point and choose whether withdrawal remains practical.
Set a short limit on unresolved fights. Rather than repeatedly firing from one position, prioritize breaking contact before additional threats complicate the encounter. For a duo, make withdrawal a shared action instead of leaving one player trading shots while the other retreats.
Keep the goal proportional to your resources. While planning around ARC Raiders buy BluePrints, judge each Frigate attempt by your decisions, not how far you pushed.
