The community around OSRS gold for sale has been buzzing recently after rising membership costs sparked frustration among players. As prices increased, many longtime fans worried that the game was becoming harder to afford—especially for casual or free-to-play adventurers.

In response, one content creator decided to take matters into his own hands by giving back directly to the community. During a livestream, he launched a segment called "Autoblock the Righteous," where he traveled across free-to-play worlds handing out bonds to random players. His goal was simple: help players experience membership without having to pay during a time when prices were climbing.

A Billion-Gold Community Giveaway

To make the event possible, the streamer invested an enormous amount of in-game wealth. He prepared 50 bonds, worth roughly 1.07 billion gold in total. In Old School RuneScape, bonds can be redeemed for 14 days of membership, making them a valuable gateway for free players looking to access members-only skills, quests, and areas.

Before heading out, the streamer even changed his outfit to make the moment feel more dramatic. Wearing flashy gilded armor and other recognizable gear, he wanted free-to-play players to immediately recognize that the giveaway was real.

The plan was straightforward: roam across the world, find genuine free-to-play players training skills or fighting monsters, and reward them with membership.

Searching for Real Free-to-Play Players

Finding the right recipients turned out to be harder than expected.

Because the event was live-streamed, viewers constantly tried to "stream snipe"—tracking down the streamer in-game in hopes of getting a bond themselves. Some even pretended to be free-to-play players despite already having membership.

The streamer frequently had to switch locations to avoid crowds of viewers suddenly appearing. At times he would approach someone only to discover they were actually a bot or a fan attempting to trick him.

Despite the chaos, he managed to identify several legitimate players.

Memorable Moments With New Players

Some of the best interactions happened with genuine newcomers.

One player who had started playing just a week earlier received a bond and was shocked by the gift. The free membership would allow him to train faster, use better gear, and explore a massive portion of the game he had never seen before.

Another moment involved a player who had been playing on and off for 10 years but stayed free-to-play due to the rising cost of membership. When the streamer handed him a bond, he was clearly surprised—and grateful for the chance to return to members content.

In one particularly wholesome encounter, the streamer met two fathers casually woodcutting together. Both mentioned that they had other financial priorities in real life, especially supporting their families. The streamer responded by giving each of them two bonds, covering 28 days of membership.

The player’s reaction summed up the spirit of the event: he said he would even pray for the streamer as thanks for the generosity.

Highlighting the Membership Price Debate

The giveaway also highlighted a larger conversation within the Old School RuneScape community. Many players noted that the game once cost around $5 per month, while current prices are significantly higher.

During the stream, several players mentioned that cost was the main reason they remained free-to-play. Others planned to buy membership later but were hesitant due to the price increases.

By giving out bonds, the streamer aimed to show that the community could still support each other—even when official pricing changes caused frustration.

A Challenge to Other Creators

By the end of the session, the streamer had distributed bonds across multiple locations, helping new and returning players experience membership for free. While dealing with bots and stream snipers made the process chaotic, the positive reactions from genuine players made the effort worthwhile.

He closed the segment with a challenge directed at other content creators: if they have the wealth and the platform, they should also consider giving back to the community with OSRS gold.

After all, in a game that has survived for decades, the strength of Old School RuneScape has always been its passionate player base.
