Comparing Heterogeneous Catalyst with Homogeneous Catalyst

The Heterogeneous catalysts are designed to remain in a different phase than the reactants, allowing easy separation and reuse. Common types include metallic catalysts (platinum, palladium, nickel), metal oxides, zeolites, and supported catalysts.

Advanced catalyst technologies focus on high surface area, porosity, thermal stability, and resistance to deactivation. Support materials such as alumina, silica, and carbon enhance activity, selectivity, and mechanical strength. Techniques like impregnation, co-precipitation, and sol-gel methods are widely used for catalyst preparation.

Ongoing research aims to improve catalyst efficiency, minimize waste, and extend operational lifespan, making heterogeneous catalysts increasingly versatile, solid phase catalyst, catalytic surface reactions, industrial chemical catalyst, fixed-bed catalyst, heterogeneous reaction promoter and cost-effective.
