Stay mounted and hug the outer border of the active zone instead of cutting through the middle. Chests seem to show up in awkward edge positions more often than you'd think, and that outer sweep also helps you spot little side events you might've skipped otherwise. The route I'd recommend is straightforward: hit Bears Tribe Refuge first, port to Gale Valley for a quick scan, then finish in Fethis Wetlands if the first two come up empty.
