NHL training camp dates locations detail
Is it October yet? Well, were getting closer. The NHL's 2015-16 season begins Oct. 7, and veterans are starting to join rookies in returning to their regular-season homes. Camp opens Sept. 18 for all teams with most conducting off-ice testing and media day. On-ice practice begins Saturday; preseason games for most teams begins Sept. 22. Below are details on each teams training camp where applicable, including location and the date of first preseason games. All times are local. Anaheim Ducks Location: THE RINKS Anaheim ICE Camp details: The Ducks will have daily scrimmages Saturday through Monday beginning at noon on the facility's NHL rink. Group practices run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday. Preseason opener: Tuesday, Sept. 22 at Colorado Arizona Coyotes Location: Gila River Arena in Glendale, Ariz. Camp details: The first on-ice practice se sion for veterans is Friday at 9 a.m. The squad is split into three teams with practices open to the public at 9 a.m., noon and 2:30 p.m. Preseason opener: Monday, Sept. 21 vs. Los Angeles in Bakersfield, Calif. Boston Bruins Location: TD Garden in Boston Camp details: The main camp opens Thursday with off-ice testing for the players. On-ice practice begins Friday at 10 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. and continues Saturday at the same times. Preseason opener: Sunday, Sept. 20 vs. New Jersey at Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, R.I. Buffalo Sabres Location: First Niagara Center, Buffalo Camp details: Practices are open to the public and are split into two se sions each two hours long, beginning with a 45-minute practice followed by a scrimmage. Practices on Thursday, Sept. 24 will be held at the HARBORCENTER. Preseason opener: Monday, Sept. 21 at Minnesota Calgary Flames Preseason opener: Monday, Sept. 21 vs. Edmonton Carolina Hurricanes Location: PNC Arena in Raleigh, N.C. Camp details: Practices are open to the public, with the exception of Saturday, Sept. 19. The team is split into three squads with practices starting at 8:45 a.m. and a daily scrimmage in-between Jason Vosler Jersey at 9:30 a.m. Preseason opener: Monday, Sept. 21 at Washington Chicago Blackhawks Location: Compton Family Ice Arena at the University of Notre Dame Camp details: The team will be at Notre Dame for its third consecutive season with practices open to the public from Friday to Sunday. It returns to Chicago for its annual Training Camp Festival on Monday, Sept. 21. Preseason opener: Tuesday, Sept. 22 vs. Detroit Colorado Avalanche Location: South Suburban Family Sports Center in Centennial, Colorado Camp details: Practices begin Friday at 8 a.m. with the Burgundy/White game held Sunday at 1 p.m. at the University of Denver. Se sions are open to the public on a first-come, first-serve basis. Preseason opener: Tuesday Sept. 22 vs. Anaheim Columbus Blue Jackets Location: OhioHealth Ice Haus, Columbus Camp details: The team is splitting into two factions for the practices, which are open to the public. Preseason opener: Monday, Sept. 21 vs. Pittsburgh Dallas Stars Location: Cedar Park Center in Cedar Park, Texas Camp details: Practices begin Friday. Those open to the public run through Tuesday, Sept. 22 including a Victory Green vs. White Intrasquad scrimmage Sunday at 1 p.m. Practices begin each day at 9:20 a.m., broken into two or three se sions. Preseason opener: Tuesday, Sept. 22 at Florida Detroit Red Wings Location: Centre I.C.E. Arena in Traverse City, Mich. Camp details: Camp opens Friday with on- and off-ice practices and daily scrimmages running every day from 9:25 a.m. to 2:40 p.m. The Red and White game is Monday, Sept. 21 at noon local time. Preseason opener: Tuesday, Sept. 22 at Chicago Edmonton Oilers Location: Leduc Recreation Centre in Leduc, Alberta Camp details: Practices and scrimmages run Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fans wishing to attend must enter the Priority Draw on the Oilers website. Preseason opener: Monday, Sept. 21 at Calgary Florida Panthers Location: Florida Panthers Ice Den Camp details: Practices will be held at the Ice Den starting Friday and will be split into three se sions at 9:45 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Scrimmages are held at the stadium at 10:45 and 11:30 a.m. Preseason opener: Doubleheader Sunday, Sept. 20 at Nashville at 3:30 and 7 p.m. Los Angeles Kings Location: Toyota Sports Center, El Segundo, Calif. Camp details: On-ice camp begins Friday. Preseason opener: Monday, Sept. 21 vs. Coytoes at Rabobank Arena in Bakersfield, Calif. Minnesota Wild Location: Xcel Energy Center Camp details: An open practice will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. The Wild will practice at ASOIL Arena in Duluth, Minn., Sept. 29 and 30. Practice on Wednesday, Sept. 30 is open to the public and begins at 10:30 a.m. Preseason opener: Monday, Sept. 21 vs. Buffalo Sabres Montreal Canadiens Location: Bell Sports Complex in Bro sard, Quebec Camp details: The Canadiens hit the ice Friday, Sept. 19 at 10 a.m. Practices are open to the public through Sept. 21. The Team Red vs. Team White scrimmage will take place Monday, Sept. 22 at Bell Centre at 7 p.m. Preseason opener: Tuesday, Sept. 22 vs. Toronto Nashville Predators Location: Centennial Sportsplex, Nashville, Tenn. Camp details: The Preds begin practice Friday, Sept. 18 at 9:35 a.m. Preseason opener: Doubleheader Saturday, Sept. 20 vs. Florida. Game times are 3:30 and 7 p.m. New Jersey Devils Location: AmeriHealth Pavilion in Newark, N.J. Preseason opener: Sunday, Sept. 20 at Boston New York Islanders Location: Ice Works, Syo set, N.Y. Camp details: Physicals planned for players on Sept. 17, workouts begin Sept. 18. Preseason opener: Monday, Sept. 21 vs. Philadelphia New York Rangers Location: MSG Training Center, Tarrytown, N.Y. Camp details: Players will get physicals on Thursday and coach Alain Vigneault will speak to the media at noon. On-ice practice begins Friday at 10 a.m. All players will scrimmage Sunday at 11 a.m. Preseason opener: Monday, Sept. 21 vs. New Jersey Philadelphia Flyers Location: Flyers Skate Zone, Voorhees, N.J. Preseason opener: Split-squad scrimmage against the New York Islanders at PPL Center in Allentown, Pennsylvania, and the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Pittsburgh Penguins Location: UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex Camp details: On-ice practice begins at 9 a.m. Friday. Every days practice will begin at 9 a.m. The first three days are open the public through an email lottery because of low capacity at the rink. Starting Monday, all training camp and practice se sions are open to the general public. Preseason opener: Monday, Sept. 21 at Columbus Ottawa Senators Location: Bell Sensplex, Kanata, Ont. Camp details: On-ice practice begins Friday at 8:45 a.m. Preseason opener: Monday, Sept. 21 vs. Toronto San Jose Sharks Location: Sharks Ice in San Jose Camp details: The squad will be split into Teams A and B with practices in the morning and afternoon. A scrimmage will take place Sept. 20 at 11:50 a.m. at the South Rink. Preseason opener: Monday, Sept. 21 vs. Vancouver in Kraft Hockeyville in Victoria, B.C. St. Louis Blues Location: Scottrade Center Camp details: Camp kicks off Saturday morning with a ceremony to commemorate the new Blues Hall of Fame Plaza at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19 and Sunday, Sept. 20 practices will be open to the public with se sions at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. and scrimmages at 11:15 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. Preseason opener: Tuesday, Sept. 22 at Columbus Tampa Bay Lightning Location: Amalie Arena, Tampa Camp details: The Lightning hold a "Lightning Launch Weekend" through Sunday to kick off the 2015 season for the Eastern Conference champions. It includes a fan fest and scrimmages Sunday. Preseason opener: Tuesday, Sept. 22 vs. Nashville Toronto Maple Leafs Location: BMO Centre in Bedford, Nova Scotia Camp details: The team will hold medicals and media day in Etobicoke, Ont., on Thursday and will travel to Bedford for the first three days of camp running from Friday, Sept. 18 to Sunday, Sept. 20. Practices are open to the public and run each day from about 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Its the first time the Maple Leafs have held camp outside of Ontario since 2001. Preseason opener: Monday, Sept. 21 split-squad vs. Ottawa (home and away) Vancouver Canucks Location: CN Centre in Prince George, B.C. Camp details: Its the first time the Canucks will hold training camp in northern British Columbia through Sept. 20. Theyll be practicing at the home of WHL Prince George. Preseason opener: Monday, Sept. 21 vs. San Jose in Kraft Hockeyville in Victoria, B.C. Washington Capitals Location: Kettler Capitals Iceplex, Arlington, Va. Camp details: The Caps will plan a training camp day, Saturday, Sept. 19 with activities such as face painting and mini hockey. Preseason opener: Monday, Sept. 21 vs. Carolina Winnipeg Jets Location: MTS Iceplex, Winnipeg Camp details: The team will hold on-ice and off-ice se sions exclusively at the MTS Iceplex through Monday, Sept. 21 at 9 a.m. and noon.
