The Rangers have won the Presidets' Trophy twice in franchise history, most recently during the 1993-94 season when they went on to win the Stanley Cup. On Monday they get a Columbus team that isn't going to the playoffs but is still causing havoc down the stretch for a bunch of teams that are having won nine games in a row and 14 out of their past 16 games. Eventually, though, somebody is going to beat them.Pick: Rangers 3, Blue Jackets 2 vs. , 8 p.m. ETFor all of the talk about the Eastern Conference playoff race, things are not any different out in the West with Winnipeg, Los Angeles, Calgary and perhaps even Vancouver all fighting over just a couple of spots. On Monday, three of those teams are in action. The Jets are in Minnesota for a tough game against a Wild team that has been one of the best in the NHL over the past couple of months as they try to get back into a playoff position. They open the day tied with the Kings in the standings with 92 points but lose on the tiebreaker because they have fewer regulation and overtime wins. This is their second game without since his suspension for cro s-checking . The Jets also have to finish with three of their four remaining games on the road before returning home to finish the season against Calgary in a game that could determine a playoff spot.Pick: Wild 4, Jets 3 (overtime) vs. , 10 p.m. ETEven though the odds are in their favor, the Canucks playoff position isn't exactly 100 percent secure at this point. With a three-point gap between them and the first non-playoff team in the West, they still probably need to pick up a few more points before the end of the season, and Monday's game in Los Angeles would be a good place to start considering the Kings are one of those teams chasing them in the standings. The good news is that even if they lose on Monday -- and I think they will -- their remaining two games are not only at home, but against Arizona and Edmonton, two of the worst teams in the NHL. He has already matched his previous career high (which he set a year ago) even though he mi sed 10 games this season. He has five goals and 12 points in his past nine games.2. , Minnesota Wild: Parise hasn't recorded an a sist in seven straight games, but he's more than making up for that with a shoot-first mentality and scoring a bunch of goals, which he has done five times on 29 shots over that stretch. has been getting a lot of the headlines for Minnesota's turnaround (and he deserves them) but Parise has been a huge part of it as well. 3. , Los Angeles Kings: He had a slow start to the year but when all is said and done he is going to end up right where he always does: Right around 70 points to go with elite defensive play.
