U4GM: The 5 Best Missions in GTA 5 You Must Play

Grand Theft Auto V is still widely regarded as one of the best video games ever made, and a huge part of that comes from its single-player story missions. With three very different protagonists, cinematic heists, and missions that swing between chaotic action and dark humor, GTA 5 continues to stand out even years after its original release GTA 5 Casino Chips.

1. The Third Way (Ending C)
Ending C, also known as “Deathwish,” is often considered the only satisfying conclusion to GTA 5's story. Instead of forcing Franklin to choose between Michael and Trevor, this ending brings all three protagonists together for one final operation.

The mission is essentially one long, high-stakes cleanup. It starts with coordinated attacks on the FIB and Merryweather, followed by a series of targeted eliminations against key enemies like Stretch, Wei Cheng, and Steve Haines. Everything builds toward the final confrontation with Devin Weston, who has been a behind-the-scenes problem for much of the game.

What makes this mission stand out is the teamwork. Michael handles most of the heavy combat, Trevor provides aerial support, and Franklin takes out targets from a distance. It feels like the game finally lets the three characters function as a real unit, and that's what makes the ending hit so well.

2. Prologue
The Prologue is one of those missions that sticks in your memory right away. Set in snowy North Yankton, it introduces Michael and Trevor during a botched bank job that goes completely off the rails.

It also quietly teaches you the basics of gameplay while you're thrown into a full-on heist. Hostages, gunfire, and a tense escape all unfold quickly, ending with Trevor escaping and Michael being presumed dead.

That opening twist—Michael later turning up alive under a new identity—sets the tone for the entire story. From the beginning, you know things are not as straightforward as they seem.

3. Caida Libre
Caida Libre is one of the more intense missions in GTA 5, especially because of its long-range sniper setup and airborne chase sequence.

Michael and Trevor are hired to take out Javier Madrazo, who is planning to betray his family. From the Galileo Observatory, Michael uses a mounted rifle to shoot down Javier's plane. What follows is a dramatic chase as Trevor tracks the falling aircraft across the map.

The mission doesn't end cleanly either. After the crash, Trevor ends up kidnapping Patricia, which drags the story into another uncomfortable but darkly funny situation involving Martin Madrazo. It's classic GTA—serious action mixed with absurd choices.

4. The Jewel Store Job
This is the first major heist in the game, and it's where GTA 5 really shows off its structure. After Michael gets pulled back into crime and ends up owing a massive debt to Martin Madrazo, the team needs a big score—and the Vangelico jewelry store becomes the target.

What makes this mission memorable is the choice in approach. You can go in quietly using the smart plan, posing as fumigation workers and knocking everyone out with gas, or you can go in loud with full firepower after stealing a police transport truck.

Both versions work well, and that flexibility is part of what made GTA 5's heists feel fresh at the time. It's also the point where the game really opens up its identity.

5. Friend Request
Friend Request is a great example of how GTA 5 doesn't always rely on explosions to be interesting. Instead, it leans into satire and social commentary.

Michael, working with Lester, infiltrates the Lifeinvader offices under the disguise of a tech contractor. The goal is simple but absurd: plant a modified phone that will later explode when activated.

The mission plays out almost like a workplace stealth sequence, with Michael pretending to fit into a strange tech culture while trying not to blow his cover. The payoff, when the CEO is killed by his own product during a live presentation, is both funny and dark in typical GTA fashion.

Why GTA 5 Still Holds Up
These missions are just a small part of what makes GTA 5 so memorable. The game includes dozens of story missions, each built around the personalities of its three protagonists: Michael's calculated approach, Franklin's driving skill, and Trevor's unpredictable chaos.

What really ties everything together is how the missions build relationships while constantly shifting tone. One moment you're in a serious heist, the next you're dealing with absurd celebrity satire or brutal criminal decisions. Missions like “By the Book” or “Fame or Shame” show just how wide the game's tone range really is.

Even after more than a decade, GTA 5 still feels alive. Between the story mode and the constantly evolving GTA Online, players keep returning to Los Santos for very different reasons—but the single-player experience is still one of the strongest open-world campaigns ever made.

If you haven't played it in a while, it's still worth going back. The story, the structure, and the mission design still hold up surprisingly well, and few games manage to blend cinematic storytelling with open-world freedom quite like GTA 5 does cheap GTA 5 Casino Chips.
