Jonathan Toews just sat out the last two NHL seasons. But now, the Chicago Blackhawks legend is on the verge of a return to the ice. reported Friday that Toews has reached an agreement with the Winnipeg Jets. Toews is a Winnipeg native, and now he'll get a chance to skate for his hometown team. After the 2022-23 season, Toews announced he wasn't retiring but rather Roni Hirvonen Jersey sitting out 2023-24 to focus on his health. He stayed away for the 2024-25 season, too. Now, at 37 years old, Toews is back. MORE: Toews won three Stanley Cups with the Blackhawks after being the No. 3 overall pick in the 2006 draft out of North Dakota. In 1,067 career games with Chicago, Toews had 372 goals and 511 a sists (883 points). If all goes well here, it's a huge addition for the Jets. Winnipeg has been a strong regular season team of late but hasn't put it together in the postseason. Bringing in a veteran like Toews, who knows the ropes in the playoffs, should be a huge addition. Blackhawks fans shouldn't be too upset by this move, either. Toews gave Chicago some incredible seasons of hockey, and now, after apparently clearing up his health, he gets to return to the sport he loves to suit up in his hometown.
