The franchise goalie was injured Saturday in a win against the Hurricanes when a Brad Malone shot crept underneath his mask and square into his neck. He stayed in the game stopping 31 of 32 shots and played again Monday in another win over the Panthers. Afterward, Lundqvistconceded that he felt "lightheaded" during the game against Carolina and had been experiencing intermittent headaches afterward. He underwent a series of concu sion tests Wednesday and was later ruled out for the Rangers' game against the Bruins. On Friday, the Post reported thatLundqvistis not suffering from post-concu sion symptoms,but that his neck injurywould take at least four weeks to heal. A vascular injury to the neck could mean arterial damage that impedes blood flow and creates clots. If left untreated, there's a risk of stroke well after the initial injury. The best way to diagnose it is through a CT scan. If it costs Lundqvistjust three weeks, the Rangers' playoff hopes could be tested.
