The doctors wisely got Parros back on the ice and called for the stretcher.He was placed on a backboard and carted off, leaving some blood on the ice and the normally jubilant Bell Centre crowd deathly silent. Parros appeared alert as he was taken off.It was the second time Parros and Orr squared off that night, with Parros appearing to get the better of the pugilist in the first scrap. In 452 career games, Parros, owner of the most famous mustache in the NHL, has ama sed more than 1,000 PIM.It is instances like these the NHL is trying to avoid by creating rules about players leaving on their helmets. That said, Parros was wearing his helmet and there was nothing it could po sibly do to protect his face from slamming into the ice. Not even a visor would have softened the blow.The fighting debate is sure to rage on all season, and this incident will be part of the discu sion, but the only thing that really matters at this point is Parros health.Parros was taken to the hospital for further evaluation .
