forward (and All-Star!) was giving defenseman the busine s in the second period Thursday night. Komarov was giving Doughty a rough ride even after the defenseman had dished off the puck. There were some slashes and cro s checks and then the Maple Leafs forward decided not to be too quick to let Doughty up. Somehow that went unpenalized. When the Maple Leafs had a chance to break the other direction, Komarov Ricky Rubio Jersey let up on Doughty and tried to join the rush. Doughty was not about to let Komarov get away with what he did, nor was he going to be involved in any potential scoring play. So the Kings' star blueliner absolutely snapped. Doughty, who is also headed to the All-Star Game, chased Komarov down, grabbed at his jersey, swatted at his head and eventually hauled down the Maple Leaf affectionately known as Uncle Leo before the linesmen stepped in. After all of that, Doughty was the only player to get penalized, which left him even more incensed. Doughty sat for two minutes for roughing, while Komarov got off scot-free. As my youth hockey coaches always said, the referees always catch the retaliation.
