Diablo 4 Season 14 has shaken up endgame loot in a way that feels pretty familiar at first, then quickly gets messy once you start chasing the new key grind. What used to be Betrayer's Husks is now part of the wider D4 items pool under the Superior Lair Key name, and that matters because these keys sit right at the centre of high-tier boss farming. If you are pushing Torment content, this is one of those drops you will keep an eye on every time a Lair Boss cache opens.

What changed in Season 14

The old Betrayer's Husk name is gone, and that is not just a cosmetic switch. The item now covers more than Belial alone, since Season 14 adds another top-end Lair Boss route tied to seasonal progression. In plain terms, the same key that once pointed straight at Belial now opens more than one serious loot path. It still only works in Torment, and if you are below that, the item just is not part of your game yet.

Best ways to farm them

If you want a steady supply, the cleanest route is the Deathtoll Chamber. You reach it through Pandemonium Ruptures, and that whole system is where most players will spend their time anyway. Normal Ruptures pop up in the open world, Surging Ruptures show up during Helltides, and Colossal Ruptures are the big one inside the Fields of Desecration. Each version feeds into Realmwalker spawns, and once a Realmwalker goes down, the portal to the Deathtoll Chamber opens. That is where the key drops start to feel reliable instead of random.

There are a couple of extra details worth knowing, because they add up fast. The Risen enemy family shows up in these rupture spaces, and the Gravehounds inside that group drop power orbs. If you stop those orbs from reaching the Exarch, you get better rewards. Rupture Goblins can also appear out in Sanctuary and open more rupture events for you. So, if you are farming efficiently, you are not just killing stuff. You are managing the room, the timer, and the spawn chain.

How to use the keys

Using Superior Lair Keys is straightforward, but the value is in where you spend them. Belial still matters, especially if you want the old Hoard loop. You will need 2 keys to open Belial's Hoard after the fight, and only the player who triggers that opening gets the special follow-up drop from Belial. The bigger Season 14 draw, though, is the new Corrupted Reaper Lair Boss in Zarbinzet. Its reward cache is one of the best places in the game for Mythic Uniques and upgrade currency, so most players will end up saving keys for that fight first.

For most players, the routine looks like this: farm Ruptures, push into the Deathtoll Chamber, keep your orb control clean, and spend the keys where the payoff is highest.

If you are short on time, focus on the Chamber first, then save your keys for the boss that gives you the loot you actually want. That is the part most players learn the hard way, and it is why smart farming often feels better than just grinding harder.
