However, challenges such as safety concerns, storage regulations, and environmental impacts necessitate strict handling and compliance measures. Governments and manufacturers are increasingly focusing on safe production, storage, and transport protocols to minimize risks associated with its explosive potential.

Regionally, Asia-Pacific dominates consumption, driven by large-scale farming and mining operations in countries like China and India. Europe and North America emphasize high safety standards and controlled industrial usage.

Overall, ammonium nitrate remains a critical chemical for agriculture and mining, balancing its high utility with stringent safety and regulatory considerations.
