If you have spent a few raids sprinting across the fields in Arc Raiders, you have probably had that awful moment when the sky darkens and the ground starts to rumble, right as you are thinking about grabbing more ARC Raiders Items. That is usually the Bombardier waking up and choosing violence. It is not just a slow tank that sits on a hill. It rolls with the fight, lobs shells from way out, and somehow predicts where you are going to be a second from now. You duck behind a wall, you slip into a doorway, and then a mortar round curves in like it has a personal grudge. If you are not already watching the sky and listening for that distant whistle, it will erase your squad in a couple of hits.

Spotter Drones And Targeting

The real trick is that the main gun is only half the problem. The Bombardier feels unfair because of the Spotter drones circling above. These little things do not look scary, so people ignore them, and that is when the trouble starts. They tag you while you are sprinting, send that info back, and suddenly the mortar feels psychic. If you are wondering how a shell landed exactly where you slid into cover, it is because a drone kept you painted the whole time. So when the fight kicks off, look up first. Pick off the drones with bursts or a decent marksman rifle. Once they are down, the Bombardier starts missing more often, and you get those short gaps where you can move without instantly eating shrapnel.

Breaking The Beast

When you actually commit to dropping the big unit, going full auto on the heavy armor is just a waste of ammo. You are better off playing it like a boss fight with clear weak spots. The glowing yellow kneecaps are usually the easiest to hit, even when it is stomping around. Break those and the machine slows down, turns sloppy, and suddenly it is not chasing your squad all over the valley. That is when flanking gets real. If you manage to swing behind it, there is a yellow cylinder on the rear that might as well have a target painted on it. Hit that with your strongest stuff right after it fires a volley. There is a short reset where it is locked in its firing cycle, and that window is where most squads either finish it or get wiped.

Loot, Crafting And Progression

People put up with this thing mostly because the loot is so good. A clean Bombardier kill showering the ground with ARC Alloy, Advanced Powercells, and Performance Steel can push your gear level up fast. You are going to need those mats for late-game armor plates and upgraded heavy weapons. Every now and then you pull a rare Bombardier Cell or chunky gun parts that turn a decent build into something nasty. The fight always feels risky, especially when the squad is a bit undergeared, but if you keep moving, keep eyes on the drones, and stay disciplined on those weak points, the payout in salvage and new ARC Raiders weapons makes the whole encounter feel like a raid you actually want to queue for again.
