Expedition remains one of the most attractive farming mechanics in Path of Exile 2 for players who want strong returns without making a huge upfront investment. A well-prepared character can generate a surprising amount of POE2 Currency by combining efficient map preparation, powerful Runic Remnants, and smart Grand Expedition routing. The farming strategy can include an Omen of Chaotic Quantity followed by corruption. Pack Size is usually not a priority, although an eight-mod map with useful additional modifiers may still be worth keeping.

For Atlas passives, Monster Effect is the standard choice for powerful characters. Players struggling with survivability can choose increased Rarity instead. Additional Rare Monster options may also be tested depending on the current setup.

Desert is generally preferred when maximizing Expedition rewards, while Forest can be used when a player wants a less demanding environment.

Choosing a Master

Jato is a strong choice for experienced Expedition farmers. The recommended options include Unexpected Missions, Eastern Knowledge, Partial Translations, and Keen Appraisal.

Doryani can be useful for weaker characters because the alternative setup can provide additional Expedition opportunities and improve consistency. Keeping maps alive is especially important because losing a Grand Expedition can significantly reduce overall profits.

How Runic Remnant Propagation Works

The most important skill in Expedition is learning how to manage Runic Remnants. At the beginning of an Expedition, players should focus on finding valuable purple modifiers rather than immediately chasing the highest number of remnants.

The objective is to propagate strong modifiers into seven-plus remnants near the end of the encounter. Highlighted modifiers can carry over to subsequent monster groups, allowing one powerful effect to influence multiple waves.

Ideally, players should finish with seven, eight, or even nine remnants carrying several valuable modifiers. More remnants mean more modifiers applied to monsters, while larger groups can also create additional waves. The combined effect can dramatically increase both the quantity and rarity of the loot.

Prioritize Opulent Remnants

Opulent is the standout golden remnant and should receive special attention. It improves the effectiveness of other remnants, making it extremely valuable when building a high-reward Expedition.
