Vorici's Fortification reward in PoE 3.29 changes by rank: Rank 1 targets socket count, while Rank 2 targets socket colours with a preference for non-white results. Rank 1 uses 100 reforges; Rank 2 uses 25. These are different crafting tasks, so choose the reward that matches your item's needs. When planning POE currency spending, identify that socket task first.

Rank 1: Increase the Number of Sockets

Rank 1 reforges an item's socket count 100 times and keeps the outcome with the greatest number of sockets. The number 100 describes the reforges, not the number of sockets awarded. This reward targets socket quantity, not a particular colour arrangement.

Choose this rank when socket count is the problem you want to address. Before changing Vorici's position, inspect the intended item and decide what result would make it useful for your setup.

Rank 2: Target Non-White Socket Colours

Rank 2 reforges socket colours 25 times and keeps the outcome with the greatest number of non-white socket colours. Its selection rule favours non-white sockets; it does not promise the exact colour combination your setup needs.

Treat promotion as a change of task, not simply a stronger version of Rank 1. Write down your required colour combination before choosing this reward, then compare the finished item against that requirement.

Related Safehouse Entries to Check

Vagan's Transportation reward is a chest containing Trarthan Scarabs. His Fortification reward is a Trapped Stash containing Enshrouded Uniques, but that Fortification change does not apply to Ruthless. Check the division and mode before moving him.

Safehouse Scarab Chests drop twice as many Scarabs on average, not a fixed doubled amount from every chest. Trapped Stashes allow 15 seconds, up from 10. Cluster Jewels from Safehouse Trapped Stashes and Crafting Sprees have a maximum item level of 83.

Before your next board decision, select the item you intend to craft and identify whether socket count or colours need attention. Keep any consideration of cheap POE orbs tied to that specific upgrade, then choose Vorici's rank to match the task.
