When Brentford fans heard just over midway through the season that their manager Andy Scott, the man who had taken them from the bottom tier of the Football League and given them the security to become a mid table outfit, had been sacked, some Bees fans thought that the move was stupid, while some others though that it was a time for a change due to some unimpre sive results in the weeks before his sacking. In the following months, striker Nicky Forster took over the reins, in which he took the club to a 11th place finish & lost a narrowly contested Johnstone Paints Trophy final to Carlisle. However, Bees fans were shocked to hear that he also failed to land the managers job permanently.Even the most optimistic Harrison Barnes Jersey Brentford fan would of thought that a quality manager to help them in League 1 for the upcoming seasons. Step forward former East Germany & Manchester City centre forward Uwe Rosler. Having managed Norwegian sides Lillestrom, Viking & Molde succe sfully, his contract wasnt renewed after saving Molde from relegation, when he stated that he would like to become a manager of a side in the English leagues in the near future. He said in his first Griffin Park pre s conference that he wanted to achieve promotion & add continental flair to Brentford, like Brightons bo s Gus Poyet, who has achieved an enormous amount of succe s in charge of the South Coast side.Last year, Brentford had a squad that was typical of a mid table side. No striker that would score you 15-20 goals a season, a reliance on some loan players e.g. Schlupp, Neilson or Tudor Jones & a starting eleven that constantly changed. However, Rosler has used the transfer market well to make what looks like a squad that could challenge for promotion or more realistically, the play offs. St Pauli centre back Marcel Eger, former Manchester City full back Shaulem Logan, Ex Leeds & Swindon captain Jonathan Douglas, Northern Ireland winger Niall McGinn & League 2s top scorer last year in Clayton Donaldson have added defensive stability, creativene s in midfield & a natural goal scorer upfront. Add this to former Watford players in keeper Richard Lee & central midfielder Toumani Diagouraga, Charlton targets Karleigh Osbourne & Leon Legge & goal scoring midfielder Myles Weston & you have an impre sive squad. When Gus Poyet took over at Brighton, they had been battling against relegation for a few seasons & like Brentford, looked like the club was going nowhere. However, with some Continental flair & some impre sive signings, the South Coast side became a force to be reckoned with & won promotion easily in the end. If Uwe Rosler wants to become a succe sful manager & work his way up the English leagues, with or without Brentford, taking a leaf out of Gus Poyets notebook would be the start of what could be a succe sful season for the London outfit.Follow me on twitter @ .
