India PCB (Printed Circuit Board) Market Share & Trends Forecast, 2033 | UnivDatos
According to a recent report by UnivDatos, the India Printed Circuit Board (PCB) market is projected to reach USD million by 2033, growing at a robust CAGR of 16.40% during the forecast period (2025–2033F). This strong growth trajectory is being driven by the rapid expansion of consumer electronics manufacturing, rising adoption of electric vehicles (EVs), and the increasing penetration of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies across industries.
Government-led initiatives such as Make in India and the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes are playing a pivotal role in accelerating domestic PCB manufacturing. These programs are encouraging both domestic and foreign investments, reducing import dependence, and strengthening India’s position in the global electronics supply chain.
In parallel, rising investments in telecom infrastructure, particularly the nationwide rollout of 5G networks, are significantly increasing the demand for high-performance, reliable PCBs used in network equipment, base stations, and data transmission devices. Growing digitalization efforts and the development of smart cities further reinforce the need for advanced circuit boards capable of supporting next-generation technologies.

For instance, on January 20, 2025, during the third round of the PLI Scheme, a total of 24 beneficiaries committed investments worth INR 3,516 crore to boost domestic production of components for air conditioners and LED lighting. In this round, 38 applications were received, highlighting the strong industry response to government incentives.
PLI Scheme for White Goods: Strengthening the Component Ecosystem
The Union Cabinet approved the PLI Scheme for White Goods (Air Conditioners and LED Lights) on April 7, 2021, with an outlay of INR 6,238 crore, to be implemented from FY 2021–22 to FY 2028–29. The scheme was officially notified by DPIIT on April 16, 2021.
The primary objective of this initiative is to create a robust domestic component ecosystem, enabling India to become an integral part of global supply chains for ACs and LED lighting products. Under the scheme:
- Incentives ranging from 6% to 4% are provided on incremental sales
- The incentive period spans five years, following a base year and gestation period
- Domestic value addition is expected to increase from the current 15–20% to nearly 75–80%
These developments are indirectly strengthening the PCB market, as PCBs are a critical component across white goods, electronics, and electrical equipment.
Key Market Trend: Adoption of Automation and Industry 4.0 in PCB Manufacturing
One of the most prominent trends shaping the India PCB market is the integration of automation and Industry 4.0 technologies into manufacturing processes. PCB manufacturers are increasingly adopting robotic soldering, laser drilling, automated optical inspection (AOI), and intelligent quality control systems to enhance production efficiency and precision.
Additionally, the use of predictive maintenance tools allows manufacturers to monitor equipment performance in real time, significantly reducing downtime, defects, and material wastage. This digital transformation enables PCB producers to meet the growing demand for high-volume and high-precision boards, especially for applications in automotive electronics, telecom, medical devices, and advanced consumer electronics.
As a result, manufacturers investing in smart factory solutions are gaining a competitive edge, strengthening India’s overall PCB manufacturing capabilities and improving its standing in the global market.
A notable example of this trend is seen in October 2024, when Amber Enterprises India Ltd announced a 50:50 joint venture with Korea Circuit Co. Ltd. The newly formed entity, Amber Korea Circuit Pvt Ltd, aims to design, manufacture, and supply advanced PCBs for sectors including automotive, industrial, medical, and consumer electronics, bringing global manufacturing expertise into India.
Regional Insights: Strong Growth Potential in West India
According to the report, West India has emerged as a high-impact region for PCB adoption and is expected to register a significant CAGR during the forecast period (2025–2033).
States such as Maharashtra and Gujarat are key contributors to regional growth due to their:
- High concentration of electronics manufacturing clusters
- Presence of export-oriented industrial units
- Well-developed industrial infrastructure and port connectivity, enabling efficient logistics and supply chains
Furthermore, continuous government investments in electronics parks, industrial corridors, and smart manufacturing zones in West India are encouraging PCB manufacturers to expand production capacity and focus on high-value, technologically advanced PCBs.

These regional advantages make West India a strategic hub for both domestic consumption and exports, significantly contributing to the overall growth of India’s PCB market.
Conclusion
The India PCB market is poised for sustained and high-growth expansion, supported by rising demand from electronics, EVs, IoT, and telecom sectors, along with strong policy backing through initiatives like Make in India and the PLI Scheme. The adoption of automation, Industry 4.0 practices, and strategic collaborations with global players is further strengthening domestic manufacturing capabilities.
With West India emerging as a key production hub and continued investments in digital infrastructure and smart manufacturing, India is well-positioned to become a global PCB manufacturing destination over the coming decade.
